Piles, also known as hemorrhoids, are of two main types: internal and external. Internal piles develop inside the rectum and are usually painless but can cause bleeding. External piles form under the skin around the anus and can be more painful, causing swelling, itching, and discomfort. Both types can vary in severity and may require different treatment approaches.
